Klum's Kloset

Everybody act surprised now! After six seasons of helping hopeful designers realize their dreams on Project Runway Heidi Klum has been inspired to sit in the designers seat. The supermodel has joined forces with Modern Vintage and Majestic Mills co-founders Rick and Brian Cytrynbaum to create a lifestyle collection. We can expect that collection to include footwear, dresses, swimwear and activewear. This won't be her first time trying her hand as designer though. She has designed shoes and jewelry for awhile now. This is definitely a logical next step. The line is reported to be taking a page out of Klum's closet and going in the direction of feminine style with a rock and roll edge. Her 48-style shoe collection will be the first to hit stores in February 2010 and will include everything from stilettos to tall boots. The supermodel/supermom will also be adding a maternity line to her massive empire launching in February as well. Such a natural fit, right?!

Expanding the Olsen Emprie

Mary-Kate and Ashley continue to grow their fashion empire. From Elizabeth and James to the high-end The Row these ladies can't be stopped. Who would have ever thought this fashion empire would come from the cute twins of Full House? They recently announced their newest addition; a juniors collection for JCPenney. Olsenboye will be a causal sportswear line with accessories inspired by teen trends from cities around the world. Every new collection will highlight a different city. Sounds line a fun idea and a great way to keep the line fresh with continuous sources of inspiration. The collection will include denim, tops, dresses, skirts, shorts, jackets plus handbags and shoes. It's clearly some of their more affordable fashions, all priced right ranging from $20-$50! To check out the collection check jcp.com starting November 6th for a preview of the line. The full line will launch in February 2010.

Foggy or Steamy?

The husband and wife duo apparently never gets old. Posh and Becks famously teamed up for ads with Armani and now Eva and Tony are steaming up London Fog. They couple are featured in current ads for the company. I have to say, I never thought of London Fog as a "sexy" company but, their recent ads with Gisele and now Eva and Tony is an eye opener. I guess they are taking off in a new direction as of late. I mean, everyone else is going the sexy route, why not London Fog.

Like A Fox

There's a lot of moving going on at Emporio Armani. First the company announced that soccer player Cristiano Ronaldo would replace David Beckham as the face of their underwear (don't understand that one at all!). Now comes word that they will also be replace Victoria Beckham! With whom, you ask? None other than Megan Fox. I don't get it. I know that men are crazy about this girl well, I guess I just answered my own question. That's exactly why they hired her! I guess I just don't automatically equate her with fashion like Victoria. Megan slips into the Italian designer's underwear starting in January. She'll be featured in worldwide print and billboard campaigns not only for Emporio Armani Underwear but, Armani Jeans as well.

Smells like Black Eyed Peas

I used to see Avon very differently. My mom and her friends used to buy the stuff. We couldn't get enough of the bubble bath or the Skin So Soft spray. Well, Avon is not your mama's beauty brand anymore. They keep raising the bar with celebrity endorsements from the young crowd. The newest face of Avon is none other than solo artist and Black Eyed Peas front woman, Fergie. She'll be joining Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Hudson as faces of the brand. Fergie is set to release a fragrance with the company that will be available next year. Of the partnership, she says, “I love the roster of women Avon has supported. Each one is completely different, but they are all wonderful, strong women who have a purpose. It was very important to me to bring what I have to the table. I’m a bit more rock ’n’ roll than some of the other artists, and Avon has really allowed my personality to come through.” Work it out then, Fergie Ferg!

SATC, SJP and N YC

Celebrities and fragrances are inseparable these days. From Kim Kardashian to Jennifer Lopez and Beyonce. Sarah Jessica Parker is no exception. The actress' first fragrance was Lovely. She's since had a few other fragrances under her belt with the latest being inspired by her Sex and the City character, Carrie Bradshaw. It's a fruity, floral scent that's described as Carrie Bradshaw in a bottle. SJP tells Womens' Wear Daily (WWD), “A large part of the inspiration was what I now understand to be people’s impressions of seeing Carrie Bradshaw walk down the street and what feelings that evokes for her and for them — a real sense of freedom and possibilities, a love for the city around her and, of course, fashion”. Coty Prestige will launch SJP NYC exclusively in Macy's stores in February. Right in time to get us all into a frenzy for the release of the Sex and the City 2 movies in May.

Yay! Gaultier for Tar-Zhay

There are some things about the recession that absolutely suck (lack of jobs, lack of job security, no budge in the budget). If there is at least one bright spot in this - it's hi-fashion designers getting in touch with the common man! We have seen Anna Sui debut a collection at Target, Jimmy Choo debut a line at H&M, Alexander McQueen debuted his fashions at Target and Matthew Williamson designed a summer line for H&M. Now the news comes that Jean Paul Gaultier is bringing his edgy style to the mainstream through Target. I can't wait for it! The collection from the legendary French designer is said to pay tribute to the American woman and will celebrate the past and present in American pop culture. The collection will launch on Target.com and hit more than 250 of the retailers stores. You better get it while it's hot though. The line will only be available from March 7, 2010 to April 11, 2010. I'd say that's what we call limited edition!

Beauty Ain't Cheap

The Victoria's Secret fashion show will be making men drool this December, this we know. I'm pretty sure Heidi Klum won't be in the lineup this year as she JUST popped out baby number four. What I am sure of is a new model will be rocking the all-important "Fantasy Bra" this year. Marissa Miller has been chosen to strut the $3 million dollar, diamond-studded creation down the runway. The year the diamonds range in color from champagne and cognac to white all in a harlequin pattern. The showstopper on this year's bra is the 16 carat, you read that right, 16 carat, heart-shaped champagne diamond pendant that dangles in the middle. Ah, the price of beauty...

A Dash of Advice

I've said it before and I'll say it again, those Kardashians know how to hustle! Top Model's guest judge this week is none other than Kim Kardashian. Tonight she'll be dishing out her opinion to the Top Model hopefuls. Their challenge is to effectively write and present a commercial for Cover Girl. Kim, who has done some modeling herself, will be judging their skills along with the other judges. She says of the experience, "Being around Tyra and Miss Jay and Nigel — they have these great personalities and this awesome collaboration going on because they’ve been doing it for years. It was really cool that they trusted me to come into their circle and give my different opinion. I think the girls were excited and they had definitely watched my show. Even though Tyra and I may have had differing opinions, I learned a lot from what she had to say which was awesome for me."

Twigs Wanted

You're too fat, you're not skinny enough. These are things you expect to hear in the world of modeling. But when you're 5'10" and 120lbs. you'd expect that clients would be falling over themselves to work with you. I mean, at that size you are more than a little smaller than the average woman and designers size zero samples should hang on you just right. Well, that's not the case if you're Filippa Hamilton. The model was recently fired by Ralph Lauren. She says, they let her go because she wasn't skinny enough. I know... pick your chin up off the floor. The above photo is an ad from Ralph Lauren featuring the model next to a more life-like photo of her. In the ad, she's clearly photoshopped into oblivion. Ralph Lauren has already issued an apology taking full responsibility for the massacre of the ad. However, they maintain that they fired her because she wasn't able to meet the obligations set forth in her contract. Could those obligations include maintaining a less than waif-like appearance? I'd love the answer to that question.

Kanye's Clothes

We all know that Kanye has dipped his toe, make that foot into the fashion world. From designing sneakers for Louis Vuitton, Nike and interning at the Gap we were all expecting a Kanye line very soon. That line would be Pastelle. Kanye had been spotted wearing pieces from the line (above) and the below pictures had made their way around the net. Well, that line may be put on the back burner right now, waaay back. No real reason given, just don't expect to see it in stores any time soon. Apparently, Mr. West will be releasing a line in his own name in the near future. How near? You tell me....

Bombshell Beach Wear

When you hear that Pamela Anderson is going to be launching a clothing line, what do you think of?
If you said animal and eco-friendly clothing... you're right. The eternal beach babe hit south Florida recently for the American launch of A*Muse. She collaborated with Richie Rich of Heatherette fame to pull it together. Models hit the runway in Anderson's beach fashions. Anderson herself even took to the runway, closing the show in her signature Baywatch bright red one-piece swimsuit.

A Dash of Bebe

I'm not sure how they did it but, the Kardashian sisters worked a reality show into a full-on money -making business. The latest venture for the sisters is a clothing line with Bebe. They will be designing a line for the retailer that's expected to hit stores in the spring.

VIP Treatment

Usher will be dropping more than a new album this fall. No, I'm not talking about his wife. The megastar singer will be launching a new fragrance. It's call Usher VIP. Seems he's trying to bring the VIP experience to every man. It's designed withe the ladies in mind. So expect a gentleman's fragrance that brings on the sexy. Right in time to be added to the Christmas list. Coincidence? I think not!

Miley's in the City

I guess you could say what Miley wants, Miley gets. I remember not too long ago Miley Cyrus made it known that she's a fan of Sex and the City. Then there were rumblings of her being featured in the movie. Consider the above picture your confirmation of her part in the film. She and Kim Cattrall were spotted shooting scenes on the set of the SATC2 movie recently. Look for Miley and other celebs like Liza Minnelli, Barbara Streisand, Tim Gunn and Penelope Cruz when the fashionable flick hits theaters in May 2010.

Dennis the Model

Dennis Rodman is better known for his antics to shock than he is for his great game of basketball. What a shame... In any case, on to the latest shock antic. Rodman hit the runway in Miami dressed in all pink with a face full of makeup. You shocked yet? Me either! The difference in this and say his wedding dress fiasco is that this time it was for a good cause. She sashayed down the runway during the Pink Collection Fashion Show to benefit the Susan G. Komen Foundation. At least this time there was a "purpose", right?

Top Mogul

Tyra hit the streets of NYC to work. The retired supermodel was spotted smiling with her eyes during a photo shoot this week. I guess you can take the girl out of the modeling world but, you can't take the model out of the girl! In other Tyra news, a big congrats goes out to our girl. She's the highest paid woman in prime time television. She apparently raked in a cool $30 million from her productions hitting the small screen during prime time. Work it out then, Ty Ty!

Bumpy Frock

Singer-actress Christina Milian just announced her pregnancy and she has no problem showing off that almost 5 month baby bump. Milian and her new husband, the Dream showed up on the red carpet of the BET Hip Hop Awards last night and posed for the cameras. She rocked this interesting frock that obviously was not intended to camouflage her burgeoning belly. I'm not sure I'm loving the look. I mean, I have a baby on the way too, so I get it. You still want to look good even though your body is taking on a new shape. That's not the issue I have with this get up. It just simply doesn't work. It seems like it has too much going on and doesn't really compliment Milian. She usually has effortless style but, this one for me was a miss. What do you think?

The Scent of Motherhood

Becoming a mom has really done something to Jenny from the block. It's obvious in the ad for Jennifer Lopez's new fragrance "My Glow". In it she gives loving looks at an adorable baby. She says, "There is a special glow that women get when they're pregnant and when they're falling in love with their babies." Her goal was to make a fragrance for women to connect with that special relationship between mother and child. The perfume is described as a floral fragrance and the inspiration for it came from Lopez's current lifestyle. Being wife and mommy seems to agree with the fly girl. The scent recently debuted on HSN.

A Bump on the Runway

Speaking of Miss Dunn, she is currently rocking a baby bump. The busy model didn't let a little baby belly keep her from working it on the runways of Paris during fashion week. She worked the catwalk for Jean Paul Gaultier. I love it! Making pregnancy O, so chic!

Dynamic Duo

There are often models of the moment. Two that can't be denied are Jourdan Dunn and Chanel Iman. These two have been working the runway and gracing the pages of magazines and catalogs everywhere. They are definitely two of the hottest models working right now and Teen Vogue recognized it by putting these two together. The magazine recently got these two together for a spread and and to grace cover of the magazine. Fabulous!

Dina's Shoes

While Lindsay has been busy working her magic with the house of Ungaro, her mom was doing her own thing. Looks like Dina Lohan has been bitten by the fashion bug as well. The elder Lohan recently announced that she will be launching a shoe line. The name of said line you ask? Wait for it... "Shoe-Han". No, I didn't make this up. I couldn't. The shoes will be featured in a Long Island (where the family is from) based shoe store LoveMyShoes.com. As if that's not enough, she will also step into the role of national spokesperson for the retailer. In that role, she'll appear in television and radio ads. If you're going to be on the lookout for the new line, keep your eyes peeled around Mother's Day 2010. How appropriate.

Katy Perry showed up to Jean Charles Castelbejac’s Paris fashion show wearing this frock. Lady Gaga kinda started this craze with wearing muppet couture and now Katy has jumped on the train. What do you think? Is it HOT or NOT?

Lindsay's Parisian Debut

While Rihanna is taking Europe by storm another starlet was looking for the spotlight. Lindsay Lohan made her debut at Paris' Fashion Week. So what exactly does she do for the fashion house? I'm glad you asked. She signed on this summer as the artistic advisor. She and co-designer Estrella Archs pulled together a show that didn't exactly leave all the critics raving. The Los Angeles Times went as far as calling the showing "a hot mess". Others took the gentler, kinder approach and even called it a "homerun". It was her first collection for Ungaro and she's compared the experience to something out of a fairytale. Let's hope this fairytale has a happy ending for the actress-designer.

Paris Fashion Week - Rihanna Edition

Rihanna hit the City of Light for fashion week. She worked some pretty interesting choices on the way to the shows. From Chanel and Dior to Givenchy, let's face it, this was virtually the Rihanna fashion show on the streets of Paris. She is getting deeper and deeper in to the fashion world. I would expect to see a clothing line from the Umbrella singer in the very near future.
