Disney's Daughter
From her Brooklyn basement to Hollywood. Lisa Price, founder of Carol's Daughter continues to do big things. The latest being a freshly inked deal with Disney to produce a bath and body line. It's all in conjunction with the commemoration of the company's first African-American princess. Princess Tiana makes her much talked about big-screen debut on November 25th and Carol's Daughter will be right there. The company will producer a conditioner, shampoo, bubble bath and hair detangler all containing ingredients suitable for African American hair. The products won't break the bank either, each selling for $10 a piece. That'll keep you and Tiana looking princess perfect. The goods hit stores this October!
OMG, YSL!
YSL has entered the world of social networking. The luxury brand dived in with both feet with accounts on both Facebook and Twitter. While I expect to see the brand on Facebook, I mean who isn't on Facebook, I didn't expect a presence on Twitter. Now you can friend them or follow them for the latest news of what's coming down the catwalk from the fashion mammoth this fall.

Not Quite Devil-ish
For someone who denies the Devil Wears Prada is based on her... Anna Wintour doesn't make it easy to believe her. The Vogue editirix arrived to the premiere of "The September Issue" wearing what else; Prada! Maybe she's just proving she's in on the joke? The movie documents the making of the September issue of Vogue hence, the title. This particular issue of the magazine serves as an ushering in of Fall fashion. It's also as thick as a Bible and maybe that's the point. I mean, Vogue is nothing if not the fashion bible! The film premiered at the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the stars came out! Fashion and film elite turned out for the event including Renee Zellweger, former Vogue cover girl Sienna Miller, Carolina Hererra, Oscar de la Renta, Donna Karan and the list goes on! If left up to the fashion glitterati, Wintour is as far from a "Devil" as one could imagine. Designers like Zac Posen and Marc Jacobs speak of nothing but respect for the fashionable one. I guess this movie will allow us to make our own judgements of Ms. Wintour and maybe, that was indeed the point. The September Issue opens August 28th in NYC and September 11th everywhere else.

Designer Cruisin'
There's a new stitcher entering the fashion arena. It should be no surprise that Katie Holmes wants a piece of the fashion pie. Our first clue may have been her sudden friendship with fashion icon Victoria Beckham. I mean, you can't be friends with VB and not be in the know fashionably speaking. The other clues dropped were when Katie first collaborated with her stylist to design a gown for the premiere of Tom's Tropic Thunder. She apparently liked it so much she did it again and created a satin jumpsuit for her own debut on Broadway. Finally, a rep for Katie has confirmed that Mrs. Cruise is indeed moonlighting as a designer with the help of her stylist. Word is, her line will be available in the fall and sold exclusively at Maxfield in L.A. The collection will include women's and children's clothes. Hmmm... looking forward to this creation.

Mr. Ford Goes Hollywood!
There is one very sexy man in fashion. No, he's not the only one but, he's definitely on my radar. I'm talking about none other than Tom Ford of Gucci and YSL fame. There's just something about him and his sensibility, fashion-wise. Whether it's a suit or his next business venture, the man really knows how to work it! He's making a bit of a career move that may be a little unexpected to some. He's making a move into film writing and directing. His first film is going to be an adaptation of a novel by Christoper Isherwood called A Single Man. This isn't just some fluff or an all out action flick either. The story is a period piece from the 60's about how a professor deals with the death of his significant other. Pretty heavy stuff for the first time out of the gate. The film is premiering at the Venice Film Festival and will close out the festival on September 11th. Good luck with that, Mr. Ford!

Stella's Kids
For Stella McCartney conquering the world of fashion isn't complete without tackling kids fashion as well. Being that she is a mom, I guess it makes sense that she'd want to get into the arena of kids clothes. She's had design deals with Adidas, LeSportsac and H&M and now she's falling into the Gap. Has she been talking to Kanye? Anywho, the line is expected to launch in November with a limited edition collection carried in only select GapKids and babyGap stores throughout the U.S., U.K. , Canada, France, Ireland and Japan. If you happen to not live in any of these countries, you can also catch the kids garb online. Talk about global domination! Of the line, McCartney says, "For years now I've wanted to create a collection for kids, it's something I've often been asked about. I believe that kids clothing should be more accessibly priced, which is particularly important at the moment given the current climate. It's really exciting for us to do a boys and girls collection for the first time."
