Kanye's Clothes

We all know that Kanye has dipped his toe, make that foot into the fashion world. From designing sneakers for Louis Vuitton, Nike and interning at the Gap we were all expecting a Kanye line very soon. That line would be Pastelle. Kanye had been spotted wearing pieces from the line (above) and the below pictures had made their way around the net. Well, that line may be put on the back burner right now, waaay back. No real reason given, just don't expect to see it in stores any time soon. Apparently, Mr. West will be releasing a line in his own name in the near future. How near? You tell me....

Kanye Falls Into the Gap

Really, Kanye! After successful collaborations with Nike (Air Yeezy) and an upscale sneaker deal with Louis Vuitton, Kanye still isn't done! He may be a college dropout but somehow he ended up being an intern at none other than the Gap. Not sure what the term "intern" means in Kanye-speak but, I'm not convinced he's off getting coffee or filing papers for the higher ups. Just what will he get out of this internship besides invaluable knowledge? My guess is there won't be any college credit given. Perhaps, something more substantial is on the table. Let's not be surprised if Gap suddenly has a collection of clothing on it's racks with a certain Chicago-bred rapper's swagger. I'm just sayin'. Because being a superstar rapper, producer, director, entrepreneur isn't enough, right? If only my internships had turned out so well.

Kanye's Kicks, Numero Dos

As if the Louis Vuitton kicks weren't enough, Kanye West has released his shoe for Nike as well.
The highly anticipated Air Yeezys hit stores, with the first of three colorways—Zen Grey— this month. West’s kicks are limited to select retailers, including all Foot Locker House of Hoops locations, and carry a price tag of $215. As soon as they hit store shelves... they pretty much sold out. A black version of the shoe will be on sale starting May 2 and a third color will hit stores in June. They are more affordable than the pricey Louis Vuitton sneaks. Still, glimmers of hope and all, we're in a recession people!

The Smell of Success

Did you feel that? That was Jay-Z's empire expanding... again. The hip-hop mogul just dropped some big news! He's entering the world of smell goods... also known as fragrances. Representatives for Parlux confirmed that Jay-Z, his mentee, Rihanna, Kanye West and a "well- established female artist" they are keeping top secret are a part of a fragrance deal with Jay-Z's licensing company Iconic Fragrances. Hmm... could the top secret female be Mrs. Beyonce Carter? The people at Parlux dismissed that notion... time will tell. Both Rihanna and Kanye will launch signature scents in the summer of 2010, while Jay-Z and the mystery star will follow suit in 2011. Jay-Z seems to be looking forward to the collaboration saying, "We are excited for the opportunity to partner with Parlux and their management team in the launch of these dynamic new brands.” For their part, Parlux’s CEO Neil Katz says, “We are extremely excited to begin work on our projects with Rihanna and Kanye West. Each is an extremely highly regarded celebrity at the top of his or her profession who is undoubtedly going to make an indelible impression in the fragrance industry, just as each has done in the entertainment world.” Seems like one big love fest so far. Looking forward to the sniff test.

Kanye's Kicks

I told you before that Kanye West was designing shoes for Louis Vuitton. We only had a glimpse of the line before, check it out now. These are just a few of the sneakers they're putting on the market. They look decent enough but, it's the price tags that has me at a standstill. From top to bottom let's run it down. The top pair will retail for $1140, the next for $990, third goes for $960 and the red sneaks are $870. Kanye has always been known for his ego, maybe they figured they'd make the prices to match.

Kanye West is taking this fashion thing very seriously. Not too long ago he was giving a sneak peek at his shoe designs for Louis Vuitton. Now they have premiered on the runways of Paris. Above is just one style. The whole line will debut in Louis Vuitton stores in June. It's good to see someone living their dreams. What do you think of his new shoe?

808s, Heartbreak and Louis Vuitton

Kanye West has made no secret of his love for fashion. I mean, his nickname is the Louis Vuitton Don for goodness sakes. So it came as no surprise to me that he is taking some time to be an intern of sorts for Louis Vuitton. His first project is this shoe. He's creating a line of sneakers and loafers. The line won’t hit the stores until the spring but, this is a sample of what’s to come. Love it or Loathe it?
