Not Quite Devil-ish

For someone who denies the Devil Wears Prada is based on her... Anna Wintour doesn't make it easy to believe her. The Vogue editirix arrived to the premiere of "The September Issue" wearing what else; Prada! Maybe she's just proving she's in on the joke? The movie documents the making of the September issue of Vogue hence, the title. This particular issue of the magazine serves as an ushering in of Fall fashion. It's also as thick as a Bible and maybe that's the point. I mean, Vogue is nothing if not the fashion bible! The film premiered at the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the stars came out! Fashion and film elite turned out for the event including Renee Zellweger, former Vogue cover girl Sienna Miller, Carolina Hererra, Oscar de la Renta, Donna Karan and the list goes on! If left up to the fashion glitterati, Wintour is as far from a "Devil" as one could imagine. Designers like Zac Posen and Marc Jacobs speak of nothing but respect for the fashionable one. I guess this movie will allow us to make our own judgements of Ms. Wintour and maybe, that was indeed the point. The September Issue opens August 28th in NYC and September 11th everywhere else.

Heidi's Empire

Heidi Klum has graced the cover of many publications, but the June issue of German Vogue will have more than her face attached to it. Her home country is giving her the honor of being the guest editor of an issue that's all about her. This months' issue boasts a special 140-page spread entitled "Heidi by Vogue". There isn't a piece of the magazine that doesn't have the Heidi touch. She worked with photographers, hair stylists and the mag's regular editor to pull the issue together, as well as lending her famous figure to photo spreads. According to Heidi, the entire issue was shot in 1 week!
