Princess Zoe

I'm not sure what Zoe Kravitz does. I know she's been dipping her toe in the acting pool and folks seem to follow her fashion sense but, outside of being the daughter of Lisa Bonet and Lenny Kravitz... I don't really get it. I have nothing against her and her hustle. She's hustled her way into a campaign with none other than Vera Wang. That's right, Zoe is the face of the designers new fragrance, Princess. She definitely seems to be living a life worthy of that title. I have two words: WORK IT!

Fragrant Fergie

Can Fergie's star rise any higher? She is a member of the super group the Black Eyed Peas, she has a successful solo career, she's got a shoe and handbag line, she's starring in a high profile movie with Academy Award winning actors (Nine) and now she has a fragrance deal with Avon. The fragrance hasn't been named yet but it's being described as fresh and modern. She says she's been developing it with the beauty giant for over a year. She's striving to make a scent that's for confident, strong women. Sounds like me...hehehe. It will be launching in November of next year.

SATC, SJP and N YC

Celebrities and fragrances are inseparable these days. From Kim Kardashian to Jennifer Lopez and Beyonce. Sarah Jessica Parker is no exception. The actress' first fragrance was Lovely. She's since had a few other fragrances under her belt with the latest being inspired by her Sex and the City character, Carrie Bradshaw. It's a fruity, floral scent that's described as Carrie Bradshaw in a bottle. SJP tells Womens' Wear Daily (WWD), “A large part of the inspiration was what I now understand to be people’s impressions of seeing Carrie Bradshaw walk down the street and what feelings that evokes for her and for them — a real sense of freedom and possibilities, a love for the city around her and, of course, fashion”. Coty Prestige will launch SJP NYC exclusively in Macy's stores in February. Right in time to get us all into a frenzy for the release of the Sex and the City 2 movies in May.

VIP Treatment

Usher will be dropping more than a new album this fall. No, I'm not talking about his wife. The megastar singer will be launching a new fragrance. It's call Usher VIP. Seems he's trying to bring the VIP experience to every man. It's designed withe the ladies in mind. So expect a gentleman's fragrance that brings on the sexy. Right in time to be added to the Christmas list. Coincidence? I think not!

It Smells Hot in Herre!

Jay-Z has one, Usher has one and now you can add Nelly to the list of music's finest with a fragrance. Nelly will be launching his Apple Bottoms by Nelly perfume next month. This adds to his already over-flowing empire that includes his music and clothing line. I guess this was the logical next step. From the sounds of it, this may be one fragrance to add to your arsenal this fall. It has hints of citrus, coconut, rose and peony and starts at $48 dollars a bottle. Look for it on shelves this October at Macy's.

The Smell of Success

Did you feel that? That was Jay-Z's empire expanding... again. The hip-hop mogul just dropped some big news! He's entering the world of smell goods... also known as fragrances. Representatives for Parlux confirmed that Jay-Z, his mentee, Rihanna, Kanye West and a "well- established female artist" they are keeping top secret are a part of a fragrance deal with Jay-Z's licensing company Iconic Fragrances. Hmm... could the top secret female be Mrs. Beyonce Carter? The people at Parlux dismissed that notion... time will tell. Both Rihanna and Kanye will launch signature scents in the summer of 2010, while Jay-Z and the mystery star will follow suit in 2011. Jay-Z seems to be looking forward to the collaboration saying, "We are excited for the opportunity to partner with Parlux and their management team in the launch of these dynamic new brands.” For their part, Parlux’s CEO Neil Katz says, “We are extremely excited to begin work on our projects with Rihanna and Kanye West. Each is an extremely highly regarded celebrity at the top of his or her profession who is undoubtedly going to make an indelible impression in the fragrance industry, just as each has done in the entertainment world.” Seems like one big love fest so far. Looking forward to the sniff test.

Halle Smells

Halle Berry has been working on her own fragrance for YEARS. Now, it's finally here. Her ads made their debut in this months Essence magazine. The ads will hit other magazines in April. The star was apparently involved in every aspect of the process. She describes her fragrance as sensual that men will notice and women will adore. The fragrance will retail for $17 to $35. Seems pretty budget-friendly for an Oscar winner. I may have to give it a try.

Smelling Good

Celine Dion has been rather quiet lately. The queen of power ballads is adding fragrance number six to her growing empire. The new fragrance is called Chic. The ads will make their debut next month in stores. Then the campaign moves to European magazines in the fall. Above is a first look at the print ads. The ads are said to be inspired by Celine's sense of style and her personality. Hmm.... not sure I'm getting all of that from a picture of her boarding a private plane. In this current economy I may have gone in a different direction with this one. In any case, the fragrance is supposed to be for the woman who seeks affordable luxury.

Sexy has a Scent

Academy Award winning actress, Halle Berry has been called the world's most beautiful woman over and over again. As a result, many women want to be her and men just want her. Ladies, would you settle for smelling like her? The new mom has been working on her signature scent for two years. The new fragrance is called Halle by Halle Berry. The actress describes the labor of love as something sensual that women will adore and men will notice. So what does it smell like? After testing numerous fragrance combinations, she settled on a combination of fig and mimosa notes. It will be released in select stores in March. Recession-istas rejoice - it will sell for just $17 to $35. Pretty reasonable for a Hollywood superstar!

So Fresh and So Clean

Every girl needs her smell goods and I'm no different. I've found a scent that makes me smile and it's made its way into my daily rotation! Fresh has concocted this lovely, ahem, fresh scent that makes me want lemonade. Could be because there are notes of lemon in the fragrance. For me, it's a perfect everyday scent. It's not too heavy or strong, but instead it's really subtle. It's definitely making the summer staple list.

So Sweet

I may be biased.... as far as fragrances go, I love all things Escada! For the most part they have a sweetness to them that screams "I'm a girly, girl". This nifty little set is a Collector's Edition and feature FIVE scents. They're the perfect size to throw into your bag for a night out. The set is being sold at Sephora. Kick your summer off... sweetly.

New Season, New Scent

For those of us in L.A., it seems like summer just went away when it was supposed to begin. Whining aside, summer kicks off today! We say new season, new scent! The scent we're feeling is Hampton Sun Privet Bloom. We discovered this fragrance last year and fell in love! If you favor fresh, clean scents... this may be your new summer staple. It has a light floral scent and is said to capture resort town, the Hamptons in a bottle. If you won't be making the scene in the Hamptons this summer, at least you can smell like it, right?
